SUMMARY:Antigone
DESCRIPTION:ANTIGONE is an ancient Greek play written by Sophocles\, that follows the immediate fallout from the events of the earlier plays in his OEDIPUS REX trilogy.  This reimagining by Director and Dramaturge Meaghan Salmon sets the play in the aftermath of the anti-war protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. \n\n\n\nWhat are you willing to sacrifice for your beliefs? This is the central question at the heart of Sophocles’ ANTIGONE. What motivates you to speak out against injustice? Is it family? Faith? A sense of duty? Antigone is a young woman who is rising to the challenge of answering these questions for herself\, and asking those around her to examine their own answers. \n\n\n\nCAST \n\n\n\nAntigone – Kira Chisholm (she/her)Ismene – Columbia Roy (she/her)Creon – Lucas BlakelyHaemon – Ryan Bagley (they/them)Teiresias – Gus Monet (they/he/she)Guard / Guide – Fiona Cain (she/her)Eurydice / Chorus – Katie Crompton (she/they)Chorus Leader – Jason Pilgrim (he/him)Messenger – Kendelle Parks (she/her)Chorus / Antigone Understudy – Katherine Teed-Arthur (she/her)Chorus / Ismene Understudy – Tristan Moore (she/her)Chorus / Creon Understudy – Erik Salmon (he/him) \n\n\n\nCREATIVE TEAM \n\n\n\nDirector / Dramaturge – Meaghan Salmon (she/her)Assistant Director / Chorus – Riley Ough (they/she)Movement Director / Swing – Alicia Salvador (she/her)Stage Manager – Annie Roberts (she/they)Assistant Stage Manager – Emma Davidson (she/her)Producer – Cheyenne Chandler-Strub (she/her)Junior Producer/ Sounds Designer – Alexa Artzy (she/her) \n\n\n\nContent Warnings: Misogyny\, death\, mentions of and references to suicide\, smoking\, alcohol consumption \n\n\n\nBuy Tickets

DESCRIPTION:A Theatre Gargantua Production\nHow do we find Harmony in the Dissonance around us? \nA man gets aggressively bumped on the street and it leaves him distraught at the (dis)harmony around him. Through his music and teaching\, he searches both for answers and for the frequencies that can correct the disrupted vibrations in his universe. \nEvery day we must share the planet with people who have fundamentally different beliefs from our own. How do we find harmony in the dissonance? Through Theatre Gargantua’s unique and dynamic blend of storytelling\, live music\, and physical theatre\, Dissonant Species delves into the symphony of human discord that surrounds us. \nWritten by Heather Marie Annis and Michael Gordon SpenceDirected by Jacquie P.A.

SUMMARY:Adrasteia
DESCRIPTION:A Staged Reading produced by Quote Unquote Collective\nPWYC Tickets Available at the door ONLY\n\nWritten by Ida Fugli\, translated by Kate Pendry\nA revenge farce about guilt\, mythology\, and the hangover of womanhood. \nFive women — old friends\, old wounds — reunite for a Greek-themed dinner party that spirals into myth and mayhem. Ouzo flows\, laughter curdles\, and the ghosts of a long-ago holiday in Greece rise from the table. One of them took the blame. The others moved on. Or thought they did. \nAs the night descends into a blood-soaked ritual of guilt and retribution\, the women morph into archetypes — Gorgons\, philosophers\, drunk prophets\, and mothers of vengeance — raging against the patriarchy outside and the one festering within. \nAdrasteia is a grotesque feminist horror farce — part dinner party\, part mythological reckoning — where friendship rots into vengeance\, and laughter tastes of blood and salt. \n\nCreative Team & Cast\nPlaywright – Ida Fugli \nTranslator – Kate Pendry \nProducers – Quote Unquote Collective \nCast – Norah Sadava\, Amy Nostbakken\, Alaine Hutton\, Lauren Gillis\, Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah \nSupported by the Embassy of Norway\, Dramatikkens Hus & University of Agder\, Norway \n
