Bio
Gillian Clark, a multidisciplinary theatre creator, has a smile that covers most of her face and scars that cover most of her legs. Gill, a settler of European descent, is grateful to call Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal home, yet has large parts of her heart in Kjipuktuk/ Halifax and Mohkinstsis/Calgary. She is the co-artistic director of Keep Good (Theatre) Company and work as a playwright across the country. Gillian aims to create with joy, innovation and risk. Her plays include: Adventures (Keep Good (Theatre) Company and Imago Theatre),Trojan Girls and the Outhouse of Atreus (Outside the March, Factory Theatre, National Theatre School of Canada), POOF and Perfect Storm (Geordie Theatre), The Ruins (Two Planks and a Passion Theatre), Let’s Try This Standing (Keep Good (Theatre) Company). She has held residencies with Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal, Nightswimming, Outside the March, 2b theatre and Two Planks and a Passion Theatre. She is a faculty member at John Abbott College and loves learning alongside her students. She appreciates the humour, courage and community they bring into her life.
