OAC Recommender Grants For Theatre Creators

Factory Theatre is once again happy to serve as a recommender for the Ontario Arts Council’s Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators (RGTCs). Factory is seeking applications from both early career and established artists that are ambitious in form and scope, and meaningfully engage with the diversity of our community. Applications from racialized artists, Indigenous artists, LGBTQ2S+ artists, women-identifying artists, and others not traditionally represented on our stages are particularly encouraged.

About the Grants

The Recommender Grants are meant to buy time for theatre creators to generate new work and to deepen relationships between theatres and theatre creators. It is not a commissioning program, it does not fund workshops, and creators are not obligated to “deliver” a script or performance at the end of the grant period. Recommendations range from $1,000 – $5,000.

Professional artists applying must be Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, or have an application for Permanent Residency pending, and must be a resident of the province of Ontario. For more information on the program guidelines, please visit the OAC website.
