Khadijah Salawu

Bio

Khadijah Salawu is an actor and writer for theatre, film, live events and digital platforms. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies program.

She played the role of Jesse in the independent feature film Learn to Swim, directed by Thyrone Tommy, which was an Official Selection for the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for a NAACP Image Award in 2022. Select TV and Commercial credits include Sex/Life (Netflix), Pretty Hard Cases (CBC, Netflix), Microsoft, The Keg, The Toronto Raptors, Petro Canada, Volkswagen, and OLG.

Khadijah brings her love for imagination and storytelling to young people as an arts educator at Soulpepper Theatre and St. James Town Community Arts.
