Bio

Tawiah M’Carthy is a Toronto based Theatre artist: Playwright, Creator, Performer and Director. Tawiah draws from multiply cultural theatre practices, often combining the arts of storytelling, dance and movement with staging, design and text. His playwright/creator/performer credits include, Obaaberima (Buddies in Bad Theatre), Black Boy (SagaCollectif) and MaaNomaa (Blue Bird Theatre Collective). Assistant Director: Shaw Theatre Festival; The Baroness and The Pig and Henry V. Obsidian Theatre; Venus’ Daughter, NAC; The December Man. Director: Black Moon and 25 Fairview (Obsidian Theatre), Bush of Ghost (Blue Bird Theatre Collective). He appeared at Globe Theatre, Regina; Romeo and Juliet, The NAC, Ottawa; Alice Through The Looking Glass, Stuff Happens, Theatre Hetaerae; He Left Quietly. Tawiah is a Dora Nominated Playwright and Performer.
