Rent Our Theatre
(Please read before proceeding with your inquiry)
At this time we are only accepting rental requests for events that are scheduled to take place after November 1, 2021.
We’re working very hard on getting our theatre spaces back in order, working on re-opening policies, as well as updating our rental policy and procedures.
If you have a event occuring after November 1, 2021 please proceed with filling out our rental inquiry form below! We’d love to hear more and talk about the details of your event. Please keep in mind though that until our reopening and updated rental policies are confirmed at the end of October we won’t be finalizing any rental agreements.
As we progress to reopening, any changes to our rental request considerations will be made here on this page.
Factory Theatre’s unique heritage spaces are conveniently located at the corner of Adelaide and Bathurst. Outside of our regular season productions, our spaces are also available for independent theatre productions, special events, corporate gatherings and film shoots.
As Factory’s mandate is to produce and develop Canadian theatre, we prioritize requests from companies looking to produce Canadian plays. However, if you are looking for a venue to rehearse your production, there is no stipulation that it be Canadian.
We offer sliding scale rates for corporate, commercial, charitable or non-profit organizations, and film and television productions.
To inquire about renting any of our venues or to schedule a walk-through please complete our rental inquiry form below.

Our Mainspace theatre seats up to 200 in a two-tier fixed traditional proscenium seating configuration. The Mainspace is used primarily for Factory productions from mid-September to mid-June, with limited availability during this time. However, we often provide the space to rental clients in the early fall, mid-December and summer months. Mainspace rentals include use of the theatre, greenrooms, lobby and lounge areas.
Both weekly rentals (Monday to Sunday) and daily rentals (up to 12 hours/day) include front-of-house (ushers, bar staff) and box office services. Rentals also include 40 hours per week or 8 hours per day of Mainspace Technical Director service.
The Mainspace does not have a house lighting plot. Therefore, we ask all guest productions and events to provide a lighting design that our technicians then install.
Our Studio Theatre is a black box space that seats a maximum of 100 in the standard proscenium seating that can be re-configured on request. The Studio hosts only some of our season productions and has multi-week availability throughout the year. Studio rentals include use of the theatre, greenrooms, and lobby. The Studio is also available for rehearsal purposes.

Our 25’ X 25’ Rehearsal Hall is available for a variety of uses including rehearsals, readings, meetings, and auditions. The Hall has a maximum capacity of 50 people, and tables and chairs are available on request.
The Rehearsal Hall is available to rent between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and can be booked by the hour, day, or week. If you need multiple weeks for rehearsals, we’re happy to discuss an extended schedule.
Our beautiful licensable courtyard, located on the North-East corner of Bathurst Street and Adelaide Street, is also available for a variety of uses, either on its own or as part of a Mainspace, Studio, or full facility rental. Capacity is 70 seated, 100 standing.
This facility is supported through Toronto Arts Council Strategic Funding.
Factory is an IATSE theatre house and manages all technical and casual staff associated with rental productions and events.
