Bio

Amy Reuben has been working in theatre since 1982, first in Toronto, then in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1990-2020. She has created lighting designs for drama, musicals, dance, live music venues, festivals, and industrial/commercial shows. Highlights of Amy’s career include Lighting Director for the Horseshoe Tavern and Electrician at Theatre Passe Muraille, Technical Director for the Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival, Lighting Designer/Stage Manager of DramaRama festival, Lighting Director/Stage Manager for The Shim Sham Club (later, One Eyed Jacks) where the resurgence of New Orleans’ Burlesque began and Assistant Stage Manager for the New Orleans Opera Association 2016/17 season. Amy is a member of The Dramatists Guild, and is a self-producing playwright & founder of District Productions NOLA since 1996. Most recently, she designed lighting for NIF and Fireworks Festivals at the Alumnae Theatre 2021/22 season, and is designing lights for the Women at Play(s) Festival next month. Amy is absolutely De‘Lighted’ to be working with Promise Productions at Factory Theatre!
